Can you do a puncture repair on a space saver?
Discussion
As title - is it possible and allowable to have a puncture repaired on a space saver tyre, assuming any puncture is within the standard allowable area for tyre repairs?
Poor old Mrs LL11 experienced a flat yesterday and like a proper trooper, changed the wheel on her SUV herself
Unfortunately she then got a puncture on the space saver
..... although amazingly she heard the space saver hissing when she stopped at the shops, realised what it was and made a dash for home before it went completely flat
Anyway, thanks to my extremely helpful brother (thanks again
) the original punctured full size wheel now sports a new tyre and the car was back on the road in time for the school run. I now have the dilemma of what to do with the space saver, which was completely flat by the time I got home. Having inflated it again, a tiny sliver of flint has cut through the centre of the tread, so a repair looks possible - but before I suggest Mrs LL11 schleps to the tyre shop, are you allowed to repair space savers?
