This seems to be the insult du jour at the moment.

Any time someone suggests that one may be penalised for driving at 250 mph past a school at closing time, it is a dead cert that "What are you doing on PH you closet BRAKE supporter" will be posted on the first page.

FFS learn a new insult - that one is getting pretty stale.

"Speed matters" means different things to different people, but it is not limited to "Travelling as fast as possible all the time" as some seem to believe. nono

For some who drive classic cars, "Speed matters" refers to making it up a hill without dropping below the NSL. whistle

I'm sad enough to read most threads and I've never seen that posted.

MODS : move it if you see fit.

I posted in SP&L because I seem to see the statement in question on most threads here recently. It is not usually the OP who says it, either.

Is it school holidays in the UK at present?

Words to such effect are sometimes used when someone points out that hooning like HoonJack McHoon is not always situationally appropriate. See also the absurd personal vitriol directed towards people who work in speed enforcement.

It does get said in here from time to time, and perhaps a bit more in GG. It's usually a silly remark made for what purpose, I'm not sure?

Nothing wrong with that - they are in the same category as dodgy debt collectors. I would not take such a role for moral reasons.

The way some people go on you would think a speed camera worker was worse than a concentration camp guard.

Actually, there is something wrong with that.

Ok, maybe I over reacted. Just did some searching, and it's mainly one poster in one thread (on SP&L smile )

I'm sure the speed enforcement community's loss is somebody else's gain...

But help me with something please..Do you think that there should be no speed limits anywhere and if so why ? And if your answer is no are there any other laws you believe should be enacted but not enforced ?

Lots of the old gags on PH are getting stale. The people who have tens of thousands of posts making a "joke" about getting paid to post on PH..... punch

It may not be as common as I thought, but it's not just one poster, or one thread.
It just annoys me that some people can't see past their own private definition of a PH-er.

When this happens, the perpetrators really do come across not as lovers of performance cars and driving, but as BRAKE tribute acts.

That seems to say it all fastdriving isn't welcome on a site where 'speed matters' because a load of Brake supporting infiltrators don't like it.lol
