I have a project for 6 months where I need to do some rubbish M25/M3 miles (140/day) 4 days a week - self-employed, powerfully built company director etc - but accountant highly recommends not to lease/buy through my company due to BIK etc

We already own a decent family car and I have a 997 - I don't want to use the 997 and need a dedicated diseasel/autobox repmobile for this trip.

I don't want to own it, I want to give it back at the end - I don't want to pay a massive deposit and I don't really want the aggro of selling it at the end.

I would like a 520d, and have found several nearly-new decent examples - but even BMW main dealer can't do anything less than a 2yr PCP type arrangement..

Ideas?

These guys seem to have what I want - albeit more limited choice of cars - so it will prob have to be an XC60 (Hmmm) and all i have to supply is the insurance and give back with > 4.5mm on tyres - where is the catch (I think the director is a PH'er wink).

Why is this so hard? a decent nearly new car would have already had the worst bit of depreciation (VAT etc.) so a £26k 520d 7k miles up should only depreciate a reasonable amount say £400/month for 6 months, add dealer/finance co profit - would yeild a rental of say 650 a month? - which would be reasonable in this instance - I'm sure this is how it used to work in the good old days in the late 90's, I don't recall ever having to worry about this stuff and could even get a fully maintained 6 month lease ! (but I was younger and had more hair smile).

Why dont you buy a second hand car for a couple of grand and sell it afterwards?

I had a 2.0 Mondeo Titanium diesel (auto) for £400 + VAT on a long term hire. No mileage restrictions, no tie in period at all. Only overhead was insurance and £100 excess.

Was from a smaller Ford dealer. so also a 2013 car.

Your market is limited if this is what you are looking to do, and it's a case of working the phones.
