Hi,

Im lucky enough to have three kids under 5 years old, but im struggling to find a car that can fit 3 car seats across the back seats?
We currently have a 7 seat X5 which is great, but the fuel economy is poor and you cant fit 3 car seats occross the back, so am now looking at alternatives.

Does anyone know of any options, that are still reasonable to drive?

Im aware of the Discovery, and the Prius + but they are a little too dull to drive i hear.

Any other options would be more than welcome!

Thanks Tom

Fiat/Peugeot/Citroen Ulysse/807/C8. We have 3 kids and we had a Ulysse.

SMax is the best drive of the MPVs, and you need an MPV or large 4x4 to stand any chance of getting three in side by side.

Do remember that as the children get older they will bicker and fight so it might be worth while considering a two plus two plus two set up. The kids then have their own space. S Max is a good choice but we ended up getting a Mercedes R-Class. Ugly but brilliant big things.

Toyota Verso fits three across the back. I really like ours, though it's not exactly the best looking car.

Audi A4 Avant - not sure the variant name, but 2006 vintage certainly could.

Hi,

I also have three under 5.

It depends on the seats they are in, at the moment we have youngest (2) in a forward facing seat which mounts in the middle and the older two in boosters with backrests either side.

We can fit them into pretty much any saloon / estate / 4x4 like that.

When they were smaller we had a 2010 A4 estate and they wouldnt fit, so we ended up with a Disco for while which was great, if a little expensive to run!

Multimac is also worth a look, which fits any car, although expensive to buy - they do seem to keep a decent resale value so net cost not too much!

But then you have to put up with the fact you will be leaving a trail of broken children crying in their parents arms as you drove past.
