Used Irwin bolt grips in anger for the first time, holy smokes batman, these are good:

Bought on a whim after a few faceless internetters were waxing lyrical about them. They're made in China so wasn't expecting much, sat there for couple of years but after tonight they're not even slightly worn and this was (or at least should have been) an 8.8 nut. Impressed i am. If only t'internet was always this reliable laugh

So with my faith in t'internet restored, what other tools or products should i try next?

I restore land rovers.
Ive got a set=brilliant!

1 tip, when you have cracked of the nut/bolt, do it back up again in order to get the irwin socket off.

Yeah that's definitely easier, good tip!

Done 2 more with these, the first nut came off, but the second bolt snapped. That's me being an insensitive clod though.

Saw these a little while ago myself as well and wondered if they would be any good. If they're that good then will have to get some myself aswell. Can see them being very handy!

You may not use them often, but when you do, you will be pleased you got them.
I bought mine to get a defender brake caliper bolt off.

Got a set of these myself.
Only used them a handful of times but they never fail to work. I no longer have that heart wrenching feeling as a nut starts to round as I know I can get the Irwins out.

I have a set - they are amazing. If you use them once in 10 years, they are worth having

Another vote for 'em here.

Make sure you find a supplier that does both sets of five for a good price together. The case holds all ten, and having the lot to choose from really does help if you're dealing with some seriously mullered fasteners.

They paid for themselves first time I used 'em, after the ball end of an allen key snapped off in a damn-near-inaccessible place...

Yes, extremely handy when you need them
Only had to use them a few times but they save a lot of hassle

Another vote for these - the rear wishbones & caliper bolts on my MX5 were so rusty even hammered on sockets didn't stand a chance. The Irwin grips just laughed at them, and they don't seem to show any signs of wear. thumbup

65 Year old pickup truck with stupid clutch-head bolts. The bolt grips have paid for themselves many times over!
