Why didn't you get the Brodit with the charge port?

I have 2 Brodit active charge holders in my van, centre of dash and A pillar. I have 2 galaxy s4s, one private, one business. The A pillar one is just power, the centre console is usb into the back of my head unit.

Can I recommend not drilling holes in your dash for cables, instead look for a natural gap between panels. Or failing that, drill through a switch blanking plate. So your dash can be restored to factory with minimal outlay.

I'm a fan of the 'Wonder Holder'

Basically it's a circular magnet with an adhesive back. The pack includes some thin metal plates that you stick onto the back of the device(s) you have. Then when you get in the car, place said item on 'wonder holder' and it grabs it and stays in place.

Its great and looks better than these large plates protruding from the gap in the dash trim imho

How strong it the hold? Surely a pothole will have it in the footwell? Does it work if next to the battery/under a battery cover?

Its a good strong hold. Obviously if the road surface is like the moon and your car has a 'bruv' suspension setup then it's likely to get challenged.

Worth a try for a few quid though..

Simply fit a parrot (or similar) and leave your phone in your pocket.

My 2006 Mondeo has integrated bluetooth, that takes care of phone calls.

If I want music from the phone it's done via an aux cable run from the glovebox and tucked behind trim which pops out next to the centre console, the phone site neatly underneath the handbrake.

I have the phone in my pocket end everything linked via Bluetooth.

I have a Dashmount bracket which holds a fix2car dedicated phone holder. A separate Y cable runs from the phone holder, behind some trim, to the aux in port and the charger.

Calls are through Bluetooth and music via the aux in. Can also be used as a sat nav if the built in sat nav isn't bang up to date for a particular address.

I have the phone in my pocket paired to the factory bluetooth. The is a USB port in the centre arm rest/storage that I can use to charge the phone if needed (I usually do this on long journeys)

The bluetooth connection means I can also stream music on my phone.

I was planning to have an aux cable running from my aux point, inside my glovebox, and drilling a small hole on the inner wall of the glovebox that would allow the cable to run behind the dash and through the vent, so no holes or wires would be on show.

Does anyone have any idea how I would "hardwire" an iPhone 5 charger to run to the same point? (out of the vent behind the holder). I will probably have to purchase an official Apple cable as the cheap ones no longer work.

I fitted a Parrot CK3100 clips on the side air vent.
