So after trawling through numerous threads thought id join up and hopefully get a bit of advice as well.

At 18 i stared off by driving a very very old vauxhall corsa, which i paid a grand total of 100 pounds for. Managed to flog this on for 300 which was pretty good going considering the condition it was in.

Currently I drive a 2001 1.6 Vauxhall Astra...club...the grandad wagon. Now that i have finished studying I am in a bit of a better position to get something I might actually enjoy as opposed to something simply to get me from A to B.

At the moment my daily commute is around 8 miles, although hopefully at some point soon it will be going to a 40 mile round trip.

Budget wise around 200 a month is around the right mark for now until I am sorted a bit more on the job front. Or something around 7-8k

Ive looked at a number of options, leasing, buying used but tbh i aint really too sure what the best options are atm, something newer with high mileage, something a bit lower spec thus cheaper....no idea. Did look at siroccos but they seem to come in over budget.

Any suggestions appreciated cheers

just a bit more info, practicality wise I do a fair bit of mountain biking so needs to be something that can handle a bike rack without too many issues as well as being a reasonable size to hold a fair amount of kit.
