Without knowing what the number is it's impossible to comment.

Some people think SU55 DAV is a valuable private plate. It's not. 99p on ebay and see what happens.

On the other hand ABC 123 etc do have a genuine market, although patience is needed to get a decent price. Unless it's very special ebay is again a decent place to start with a suitable initial listing price. The world is full of overpriced registrations for sale...

In what way is this plate marketable or worth selling? Am I not seeing something?

Would they buy it from you for this price? Or advertise it and once sold then return to you with said price.

A plate is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it and your plate doesn't look like it's worth much.

Ebay it starting @ 99p advising them you will be adding the £80 assignment fee to the final selling price and the £25 retention certificate fee.

Realistically its not worth much, maybe £100 + fees on a good and lucky day. There are not many cars or products to which R70 is relevant, and the 3 letters aren't really meaningful.

The reg selling companies won't be interested and will waste your time with its worth £750 tomfoolery.. Ebay is as good as any as already said.

The reason i ask is that a company offered me 400 for it and that made me think it could be worth more? I see what u mean about R70 not meaning anything.
I just wanted to ask about before i took the company's offer
I think i will just sell it to them.
Thanks for the help!!!!

Have they actually offered to pay you £400 for the plate? If so, take it.

Be carefully with these "webuyanyplate" companies, they might offer you a decent price but when you take the plates round they normally knock a bit off for any scratches/stone chips.

Unless it's a Volvo nerd kind of plate I don't see the value to be honest.

Sell it them, £400 is more than your will get off eBay I would think.

A couple of hundred tops, but that's assuming a company would get a buyer. It could take a week, it could take ten years. Similar plates on the DVLA website have been there since 1997 and not sold yet...
Do as what people have suggested on here with a fleabay advert but start it at £80 otherwise if it's any less you'll still have to pay the £80 transfer fee.

It's pretty worthless mate, I have a few plates that I have been trying to offload for years. Unless the plate means something or has some significance it will never sell.

Independent dealers will advertise it free but with literally millions of plates on their books, it will never sell.

Hand it back to DVLA to save on retention fees or stick it on Ebay for no reserve.
