Subwoofer in a 2006 VW Touareg 3.0 V6 TDi
Discussion
Don't ask me why but I decided to fit a Subwoofer in the boot after fitting a new Double Din head unit to replace the stock unit. Anyway found a guy on Gumtree here in Perth, Oz to do it for $100 - so 2 hours later retturned to pick it up and it was working fine - but the next time I went to drive it the battery was as flat as a pancake. Easy I thought just put the battery on Trickle charge - if I could find the battery that is !! Eventually found it under the front passenger seat but you need power to move the electric seat forward - had a look at the owner's manual and there are + and - terminals in the engine bay - sorted !! Anyway next day moved the seat forward to find that he had connected the heavy red power cable straight onto the battery - making me think that is why the flat battery - does anyone know where to connect the power so that the Head unit switches the Amp off when parked up - any help would be appreciated !! Thanks TJ
From what I can remember of wiring my own amp and subs up, there was a remote lead bundled in with the red and white cables going from the amp to the headunit Power cable sounds okay, should be a fuse in the middle of it somewhere as well?
Apologies if this is incorrect, been a long time since I've put any in!
