Just canvassing your opinions if I can, If there was a website offering overstocks or damaged packaging car parts, would you consider checking it before making an online purchase on ebay, euro car parts etc?

Would it bother you about buying something like this?

We are looking at developing a site with mixed stocks of pads, discs, filters, etc. Mixed brands, Dayco, Mintex, Crossland, TRW etc at reduced prices. They would be one off parts in most cases at upto 50% off the market price.

Also does anyone know how many PH'ers there are?

Thanks

Providing it was easy to find what I needed (based on reg/VIN) and the parts were fit for purpose, absolutely if there were savings to be made - keeping a shed going on a shoestring relies on cheap, reliable parts.

As long the part itself is not damaged... I would use it.

Similar to those above I don't care what the box looks like as long as the contents are right and it's easy to find. I'd certainly give the proposed site a check to see what was available. Although with 'mixed' brands being sold I personally would like to know what brand I was ordering as in my personal view not all budget parts are made equal.

eBay could work however there's a lot of parts on eBay that are just too cheap to be genuine so you'd be competing with that....

we would have both, an ebay store and one direct. Ebay is a great market place, but we could sell 10% cheaper again direct.

Would you be better selling to traders? Those who fit parts to cars so the customer will never see the box anyway?
