So in a moment of boredom i found the hertz fun collection. Problem is nobody knows where in the country it is available?

I even asked Hertz themselves & this was the response i got:

"Thank you for your e-mail.

We would like to inform you that in the UK the Golf GTd is part of our FUN COLLECTION.

Unfortunately we do not have a list of all locations that offer this car class.

Therefore we would like to inform you that you can check the availability directly on our website www.hertz.co.uk".

An utter joke. If you try on the website the only way is trial & error!!. So with hundreds of branches across the country it might only take an entire day.

How can a company not even know its own business??

I'm more concerned they list a diesel hatch as 'fun'.

I think people easily forget what was around only a few years ago hence we have them banging on about waiting for th "full fat" version - a phrase that gets on my wick.

The Golf GTD looks smart and the engine serves up some decent stats - 184bhp and 280lb/ft. How much does a 2.0 diesel need these days for it to be classed as "fun" if this isnt quite enough?

Some might even suggest that a 1.0 Picanto would be huge fun by dint of the very fact that its a hire car.

I'm more concerned that the MB Viano Luxury Ambienete is a "supercar"

Good point Toothbrush but alas i think they only rent the earlier 168bhp model. Which is also better than a 1.0 Kia.

Still cant find any branch that has one tho...

It does make you a little bit embarrassed when you check out the 'Adrenaline range' when you flick the country to United States. They could at least have offered something with a RS/VXR/Type-R badge to take the bad look off things frown.

It doesn't matter what Hertz tell you they have or where it is, they just give you an alternative anyway.Three times now, twice in Ireland and once in Spain I,ve been given a Zafira when I've booked a Galaxy. They won't be doing it a fourth time though.

Try a post on their Facebook page - the UK one: https://www.facebook.com/HertzUK . Usually someone from their social media team will respond.

I'm having a mini email battle with Hertz at the moment as they billed someone else's fuel to my credit card. There's my own (zero value) receipt on my account, plus someone else's completely random one.

They refunded me pretty quickly but they keep telling me it's my fault as I should have brought the car back full!

Moi aussi!

I'm pretty sure the US version involves Corvettes and V8 Mustangs!
