Vauxhall To Do An 'R26.R'

According to the Autocar link below, a new Astra VXR Extreme will soon be launched. It sounds remarkably similar in approach to Renault's Mégane R26.R which, while a fantastic car, was a bit of a sales failure. Seems a brave move from Vauxhall if that's the case!

Also, things seem to have moved on somewhat from 2008 - is 300bhp and FWD enough to become king of the hot hatch castle? I'm not sure it is.
