New baby Aston revealed

And by 'baby Aston' we mean exactly that

If Charlie Higson's Young Bond series of books has you all inspired Aston Martin specialist Nicholas Mee & Co is offering the perfect vehicle to live the dream for real. A slightly odd dream if you're a grown adult, admittedly, but where else are you going to get 60s-style Aston DB-series car for £16K?

No opportunity missed to run these pics again...

So it's half sized and officially designed for 10-year-olds and upwards but MD Nicholas Mee admits the DB Junior is suitable for 'junior drivers of all ages' and the spec is surprisingly serious.

We're awaiting to hear back from Pocket Classics, whose fabulous products we've featured and driven here before on PH, but the underpinnings sound suspiciously similar. So you get a 110cc four-stroke, three-speed semi-auto gearbox, Brembo disc brakes and a top speed of 46mph, which can be restricted according to the length of your driveway and/or private race track.

Oh to be 10 years old and possessed of suitably indulgent parents eh? Failing that a grid full of these would make for a rather classier stag party showdown than the usual wheezing karts. Anyone up for a race?

A little vid here and some more pics below.

Apologies for that; was working when we put the story up but must have been pulled for some reason. Will remove from story for now and replace as and when it's back up.

Cheers,

Love it! Pity it doesn't come with scaled down wire wheels though.

Is there a mini Q branch that will install pea-shooters behind the indicators and a secret compartment to conseal a water pistol? wink

£16k for this is better than paying for that Cygnet abomination, which somehow didn't hit home.

Sorry. Any sane minded 8 yo would want the kart in the background.

Oh, sorry. This gives a young man his grounding. Before Eton. And bumming.

Still fantasising I see wink

Isn't £16k somewhat cheaper than taking karting seriously?

Presumably Giles would avoid then conjection charge? It looks like the leather has split on the left hand front of the seat. Damn shame.

Anyone else think 46mph is actually quite fast in that sort of thing?
