First of all new to this site so if I have this is the wrong section could it please be moved to the appropriate place, thanks.

Anyway, so I'm now 19, passed my test almost 2 years however up to now struggled to pay for a car. Got myself a bit of money and a decent paying job and am looking about for a car but unsure over what to get. Ideally I want a car which is pretty good in bad weather due to the travel to work taking me through lots of country lanes and steep banks and bends. I also want something with a good bit of power and although I realise 0-60's aren't everything I would like something in the region of 8 seconds or less.

My budget is £2000-£3000 max, insurance isn't an really issue as im going to be paying it on the monthly so not too concerned unless its going to be silly money because my new jobs pretty well paying and I don't have anything else I need to use it for atm.

Cars I have been looking at are Golf mk4 Gti 1.8T's, pug 206 Gti 138&180's, Ibiza & leon cupra r's (Finding it hard to find good examples of these within my budget)and also Clio 172 cups.

Any car suggestions/help with my question are extremely appreciated, thanks in advance.

Imprezza. It'll be streets ahead of the other stuff you've looked at and it ticks your boxes. Your insurance will be insanity personified, but you said you didn't care.

EP3 Civic Type 3. Will be loads in budget, the pre-facelifts. Will be a hell of a lot more reliable than an old french / german hot hatch, and more fun to drive wink
