Is this tyre brand and model fast wearing?
I seem to have worn out the rears on mine 5mm to 2mm in 5k miles which seems crazy wear rate as I'm used to Michelins which would do 30-40k a tyre.
Also on 4x4 can you mix tyre patterns on different axles (fonts have 5mm so do not need to change all 4)
So should I buy a pair of part worns same brand and model until all 4 are worn out then change the whole lot?

Are they the Sport Contact 5s? If so yes they are crap for wear rates, one of the worst around.
Part worns probably aren't worth it as they'd only last a few thousand miles...
Sport contact 3's but am considering Sport contact 5'sPart worns probably aren't worth it as they'd only last a few thousand miles...
Or ditch the set and change to Michelin all round brand new? £800 for Pilot sport 2 from Costco fitted v £492 for 2x Sport contact 3's....

What 4x4 uses 255/35/19? Seems awfully low profile for such a car. Or do you mean for wheel drive (sorry genuinely not being pedantic)I seem to have worn out the rears on mine 5mm to 2mm in 5k miles which seems crazy wear rate as I'm used to Michelins which would do 30-40k a tyre.

On all my cars I've changed then to Michelin PS2/3 /exalto and have been own away by the longevity this however the fronts are part worn and as you should not mix tread patterns on a 4x4 (not should you have too much tread difference between front and rears) so I don't really want to bin perfectly fine fronts though it might be a false economy by the sounds of it.
Thanks all I've managed to find 2 part worns sport contact 3's with similar tread depth to the fronts at a good price so will fit these and then next time it will be all 4 which are in need of being changed.
Didn't want to bin tyres with loads of tread left so this route will maximise tyre life.

what vehicle are the tyres going on ?
is it one with full time 4wd such as a Subaru or one with part time 4wd system such as the various haldex equipped vehicles ?
If its one of the haldex type vehicles its not so much as a worry as they are only 4wd when slip is detected and predominately run in 2wd form.
Obviously dont mix tyre brand across an axle !

The 4wd should mean your tyres wear at a similar rate so that they're due to be changed all at the same time anyway.
If the fronts have worn much less than the rears 8mm and the rears have 4mm then it's as different as having two different patterns on the front & rear.
Anyway, the PS3 is the replacement for the Exalto, and the Pilot SuperSport is the replacement for the PS2.
The Exalto/PS3 should last longer as they're meant as a 'touring' tyre vs the 'performance' oriented PS2/PSS.
I'd pony up the little bit extra and change all 4 for Pilot Supersports. They seem to perform and wear better than PS2s.
