What has 620+ bhp and is astonishingly quick ?

The McLaren SLR Edition...

McLaren were kind enough to lend me the car for a day, doing a photoshoot with GTspirit.com
I've been lucky enough to drive a few nice cars. 458 Spider, Maserati GTS, Gallardo Superleggera, Ferrari California and a few others.. but this car !! This was something else. The acceleration is very quick but the fact it just keeps on going and going is what really got me. It seemed almost relentless in its ability to cover ground.
Im pretty tall (6ft7) so i only just managed to squeeze behind the wheel. (same with the Superleggera) but that didnt stop me enjoying the ride. It is almost as if you are just along for the ride and the car wants to just open up. handling was pin sharpe, the steering is weighted and direct. I am in no way a professional when it comes to something like this.. So excuse the crude explanation. I only had it for 5hrs to do a photoshoot, it was then handed to another chap who was doing the RoadTest.

I think I prefer the original SLR with the 'turbine' style wheels to this one! The body kit / styling really takes something away from it.

Haha... Yes it is. That's my friend in passenger seat taking a photo of me. Didn't work quite right lol.

Oh and dayjob I work in IT.. so this is only a once in a while sort of thing.

Doesn't the F1 also have 620bhp? I don't believe that it's slow.

The F1 weighs a LOT less

both have around 620bhp i think.. They had 5 of the F1's in the workshop when we were there. very special machines
