Buy a multimeter so you can tell which wire does what?
The red was reading 12 vaults. What were the others doing, and did any of them change when you turned the key on or off?

I'm going to put a tenner on the fact this is because you have a permanent live which is part of the CANBUS system. You can get canbus adaptors but they aren't cheap.
Put a tenner in on the adapter then mate I'll take a look now how much they are. Thanks

That means it's connected to the battery then, possibly via some other connections.

Others were connected fine it was on my way back from seeing a friend 2 hours away and it just cut out. I didnt have any problems prior. However, i put a sub in my car a few weeks before this happenedWhat were the others doing, and did any of them change when you turned the key on or off?
I'd be very surprised if an 04 Polo has a switched live at the stereo. The factory head unit will have a permanent live and turn on with a canbus signal.
On my 02 Audi A2 I ran a separate wire from a true switched live in the fusebox. The only problem with that is it's an ignition switched live so doesn't come on in the acc position on the key. I added a hidden toggle switch to swop between permanent live and switched live to enable operation of the stereo without the key.

I don't want to sound rude, but what exactly are you saying? On my 02 Audi A2 I ran a separate wire from a true switched live in the fusebox.
