What car?

New member here, looking to get a new (to me) car as my old, battered 106 has finally died. Haven't got a massive budget, as I have just taken a mortgage out for my first house, looking at around 5-7k, was thinking of a Golf GTI mk5 04-06 plate. I'm 22 with 5 years no claims.

Any suggestions would be great, looking for something fun and reliable, with similar performance to the Golf.
