Minor though it is, I'd never buy one again.

Which silly little issue with something expensive would stop you ever buying one again?
For example: I've got a Ford Transit which at this time of year constantly brings up an orange warning light in the centre of the binnacle whenever it hits 4 degrees outside. It tells me there's 'risk of ice'. I press the reset, but because it's 4 degrees outside it will come on again within a few seconds and again and again and again and again etc.
Now I don't need a f
king van to tell me it's cold outside right? I put my coat on before I got in it. My hands are cold. There's frost on the windscreen. There's snow on the ground. It's the middle of winter etc etc. Which f
king planet do the people from Ford think I came from? If I can f
king drive, I'm bright enough to know if it's f
king cold outside!!! AND I CAN'T TURN THE f
kING THING OFF!
Cleverly, because it's designed to grab your attention, you take your eyes off the icy road ahead to look at the light of doom and total the f
king van as you slide into the oncoming lorry.
Rant over. I will never buy another Transit. Simple.
So...have you got a really tiny little gripe with something that would stop you re buying?
(P.S. Apologies for the language...but it REALLY f
kS ME OFF)

I sympathise. B****y Audi tells me every time I start up that the rear N/S fog lamp is not working!
Well, that's just fine but why does the warning not extinguish after 60 seconds!!
After 36 years of driving I've only ever used rear foglights twice in anger! They are the most useless f***ing 'safety' aid on a car. As has been witnessed once again this winter with minimal fog and all those complete idiots that switch them on when it's raining!
And to cap it off the B6 A4 does not even have a rear N/S fog lamp

There will be an external temperature sensor, usually behind the grill or under the front bumper.
Disconnect it.
Good advice. When I find it, it's gonna get a damn good hiding.Disconnect it.

Although I suppose it would be faintly amusing to read a story by the OP in the future about how he slid his vehicle into a ditch due to not realising it was icy outside, you could always re-route the sensor into the engine bay so that once the engine warms up the dash light will go off.

Right...black insulation tape to cover the light it is!
Just wrap the sensor end in foam and tape. It'll always read warmer than the truth. I think this warning thing maybe more EU b
ks though? Recently I've had an 06 plates 5 series and an 08 played accord. They both put this warning on. As does the wife's QQ. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
