New car, upgrading from snotter - Civic circa 2007

Hello! Currently running an older 1.0 Micra K11, I've had it for just under a year and spent nearly double it's worth getting it to my 'high standards'. Rather than pumping more and more money into it, I plan on getting rid after it's next MOT in May (if it passes of course). After I graduate I plan on getting a Civic 2006/2007 model. The main things I've read so far are:

- Clutch can slip early on
- No visibility in rear window due to spoiler
- Rough ride (can't be much worse than a Micra I'm guessing?!)
- Thin paint?
- Parking sensors are handy


I plan on spending around £4-5k on finance plus insurance (just slightly more on a 1.8 Vtec). I'm 22, will have been driving for 5 years and will have a years no claim discount by the time I'm ready to buy.

Is there anything else I should look out for? Thanks for reading, longtime reader, first time poster!
