Having ordered up a replacement number plate from an ebay seller two weeks ago - it was "dispatched" apparently 12 days ago but not arrived yet, I went to a well known "high street car parts retailer".
It's an old car and the plate is silver letters on a black background.
Using L for letters and N for numbers,
The plate should read LLL NNNL
I go to collect it today and it read
LLLN NNL
So that's gone back....

Dunno biggrin

But, if it's for the Clubman I have a handbook that could be yours for £10 UK delivered.

It is and no thank you
I could probably write a complete workshop manual from experience....
Including an appropriate list of swear words

And that, right there, is your problem...

Their computer system's almost certainly set up, idiotproof (for obvious reasons...), to ONLY print plates using the correct format for plates issued in the last, oooh, 30yrs. ALL of which have the space three characters before the end.

Because it's an old style white/silver on black they out-source it.
To a specialist..........
