So,

My car's for sale at the moment...

censored

(shameless plug)

ETA

nono

...and I've received this email about it...

Hello,

First am really sorry maling u soo late,am really happy for ur response.

How are u doing today ? Am really sorry maling u with my wife email because my email was just not sending emails and that is why i have to mail u from here.

Am really happy that the car is still for sale and its a type of car i really want it and pls can u let me know how much u are willing to accept as ur last offer.Pls can u let me know some other history about the that u forget to include on site ? i will really be happy if u can also get back to me with answers to the question i want to ask.

Here are my question.

1.Can u email me pictures of the engine ?

2.What is the present condition of the tires ?

4.What is the present condition of the Radiators ?

5.What has been change in the Car ?

6.How often did u change the oil ?

7.How many miles has it done ?

Since all the details you put on the advert are updated and real,i think there is nothing to worry about and also i want you to know that i won't be able to come for the inspection of the vehicle as am a very busy man due to the nature of my work but i assure u once we can both conclude on everything i will surely give u a call.I will want u to let me know how much u are willing to accept as ur last offer which I think is fair enough for the vehicle because i know the worth of the vehicle and more so what you’ ve stated about the vehicle details in the advert page and the maintenance of the vehicle you’ve spent so far since you bought it.

I will take care of the shipment I had already consult a private shipping company who’s going to handle it professionally for me both the shipping cost and other necessary activities concerning the shipment of the vehicle. My preferred method of payment is by bankers draft or Cheque in a (GBP) that’s the 2 options and safest way for me to transfer CASH.If u are ok with this can u mode of payment then u can get back to me so that we can conclude on everything.

Thanks soo much and i look up to ur email today.

Regards ...

Well someone may have said "No, it isn't, I sold my car to a chap with poor grammar and he used a shipping agent!", or something along those lines, in which case I might have responded.

Then again, they may have paid lurkers on the forums to influence my decision.

P.S. Please buy my car I'm moving to Spain next week...

To be honest it's my first time selling a car, and I just wanted to make absolutely sure that it was a scam before I wrote off an offer!

I am half considering something like this, but ideally an estate.

That's fair enough then. No, it's not a usual way to buy and sell a car unless it's something really exotic and rare. And even then....

Ps. Looks a bit pricey if I'm brutally honest!

EDIT: Actually, perhaps that's a little unfair, I've just double checked and those aren't very tidy examples!!

Do what I do when selling a car, string them along for countless emails. I once haggled a guy up from £750 to £12,998 when advertising my old 924. Went on for about 12 emails, which the way I see it was time when they couldn't be scamming the gulible or greedy. He got fishy when I said I wanted £6785 in cash and £6213 in Argos gift vouchers and declined to reply to my emails.

Sub human scum, so I feel it is the duty of every PH to waste as much of their time as possible.

I do the same for those wkers who ring up claiming to be from microsoft, I normally get over 30m out of them, nearly an hour is my record.
