Agree, so many "sports" folk get a gong for winning a competition/world title and just look what Surtess has done and no one else ever! That and feckin politicos getting Lordships etc like that fkIN tt Smith

My claim to fame is that my grandfather often frequented the same post-war motorbike racing circles as Surtees and his father - I have a programme with hand-written results placing him ahead of a Surtees in a race!

Anyway, happy birthday to the man, indeed worthy of a knighthood (along with Murray Walker, but that's another discussion)
