Hi all

I just bought a set of 19" wheels with tyres from Aston Martin and need to collect them. I can either get them couriered or get my father in law to try and get them in his 4 door astra. Worried they might not fit in his car, any ideas

Fold the seats down, wrap them in blankets and I'm sure you'll be fine. I managed to get a set of TVR wheels in the back of my eight with no bother at all. Good luck

No problem, though you may have to fold the seats down.

4 x BMW 17" wheels in the back of a 306 smile

I'm had 4 19" M3 wheels, with tyres, in a KA.

One had to go on the passenger seat.

So both the in-laws are coming up on Friday so passenger seat isn't going to be an option and they will also have a suitcase with them. Also keen they don't get bashed around (the wheels, not the in-laws)

I got a sec of (Octavia) wheels and tyres in the Octavia with only one side of the seats folded down and the parcel shelf still in place. With the whole car hatched, I'd imagine you should have plenty of space.

I'd imagine an Astra would be tight with only one seat folded, though.

Just spoke to Aston to arrange collection and they think the wheels will fit in the car so we'll see how they get on

I managed to fit a set of Sportpack wheels in my Vantage on the way to the tyre shop. An Astra should be a doddle.

Probably worth taking some old blankets or something to pad between the wheels so they don't scrape on each other.

So you're worried that your relations won't treat an expensive set of wheels nicely but don't want to pay a delivery charge to remove your worries? What are the relative costs? £2K and £50?

No problem putting them in an Astra. Very big load space with seats down.

No problem, but word of warning, make sure they're properly secured as there is a fair bit of weight too them, especially under emergency braking/maneuvering etc.

Thanks guys, I'll get my father in law to take some blankets and make sure they are properly secured. Will let you know how he gets on

Should go in with a bit of encouragement.

I fit four wheels and tyres (225/45/17) in the back of my Octavia vRS without even folding the seats down.

You might need to fold them, but 4 wheels will easily fit in the Astra.

If the tyres are on the wheels then easy. 1 in the boot, 2 on the back seat and one on the front seat.

Think it will be seats down and they should be fine. Can't put one on the front passenger seat as the mother in law has to sit there smile
