Another what car thread need help a.s.a.p under 5k 40-50 mpg

I would like to get back into spending more money on my weekend car, sold my Cayman R end of last year and not from choice really but through work and didn't want to put the millage on it.
So I've been running around in a smart car cdi, great on fuel and fun to drive.

Problem is will be doing a lot of motorway journeys now + short runs too so the smarts not going to do the job in comfort so its got to go so here's the criteria so HELP needed.

1)URBAN 40+
2)MOTORWAY 50-60MPG ( SMARTS DOES 60MPG NO MATTER HOW YOU DRIVE IT)
3)PRETIGE OR STYLISH
4)FUN
5)RELIABLE so dpf not my favourite
6)HAVE TO LOOK GOOD WITH ADVERTISING ON DOOR SIDES AND BOOT .

I want to keep this car for 3yrs so must be good.
My short list so far

Seat Ibiza 1.9tdi fr
audi a3tdi 2.0
vw golf 1.9 tdi 130
c class 220/270cdi sport estate (mpg not so good )
audi a4 avant 1.9tdi 130
Fiat Grande Punto 1.6 Multijet Sporting 3dr

Said it before, I'll say it again - in the same light as the Ibiza, a Skoda Fabia vRS. With another benefit being that if you look after it, you won't loose much % on your initial investment over a few years. Feels less cramped inside than the Ibiza too.

I've driven a lot of cars and for the money, I really think little else offers so much as a jack-of-all-trades daily. Havn't kept mine for 8 years for nothing

Yep, I've got one too, had mine for two years and love it! Totally agree with the last post. I never get under 40mpg on my short ish 7 mile commute along short dual carriageways. Plenty quick enough as well! Really fast in the right gear!
