Where can I get a custom air filter housing?

Does anyone know where I could get a custom air filter housing from? With all this heavy rain and the vulnerable location of the air filter (about 6-8” off the ground) I want to put a case around the filter and have an intake duct I can route up into the engine bay.





The filter can’t be relocated due to the intake location for the supercharger, I have fitted a K&N drycharger (water repellent sock) on the filter but it is only really meant for protecting from splashes, not constant deep puddles.

I had one near miss a couple of years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgRnTJwjs9g and don’t want to tempt fait again as there have been some close calls recently.

If that was me I'd pull something off a scrappie that's the same diameter and route the intake further up in the engine bay and re-attach the (un-socked) filter. Should be fine, cant imagine engine temps will be a restricting factor in anything

unfortunately there isn't enough space as I would need to run a 76mm pipe up to the engine bay

However I had a burst of inspiration at 05:20 this morning while being kept awake by the wind outside.
As I’d been unable to find anything, why not make my own….. After a quick trip to the shops I returned with 2 lockable food containers, would have preferred just one but there weren’t any big enough



Que A-team theme… The plan is to join the two boxes and run 2x56mm hoses up to the engine bay as there is just enough clearance to get 56mm hoses through.

It probably won’t be pretty, but will be functional

I might be missing something here but why not swap your filter for an enclosed type like a Green Dynatwist and then route the intake flexi somewhere safe?
