Tyres - asymmetric and directional mix.

I have Toyo T1R's on my car all round and they are directional tyres.

The fronts are wearing, the rears are almost new.

So I need to change the front tyres but I want to go with Uniroyal RS3‘s (asymmetrical) as I'm not overly happy with the Toyo's in terms of feel. They grip fine.

Now I know that the recommendation is to go directional at front and asymmetric at rear if you need to mix but as my wheels are different sizes front and rear, that's not an option.

So, can I go RS3‘s at front, Toyo T1R's at rear and possibly kill myself or do I need to go RS3‘s all round?

Just do it, nothing wrong with mixing directional and non on different axles.

Different axles its fine, but I am pretty sure its illegal to have them on the same axle

Definitely not true. Current car was MOT'd with a directional and non-directional on the same axle, no issue.
