Surfing about on the SEAT website looking at the new Cupra 280 - honest, officer - and stumbled upon this in the finance deals section.

They're offering the SEAT Mii for a frankly mental £69/mth with £2.9k down and 0% APR. Limited to 5k miles per annum, but extra is only 4.4p a mile.

More details here: http://www.seat.co.uk/content/uk/brand/en/models/s...

Now I know these deals operate cyclically through the up!/Mii/Citigo triumvirate, but this seems good. As someone looking for a cheap, cheap-to-run hash-bash, reliable daily, this seems to tick all the boxes, permitting me transport whilst saving for something fun, exciting and PH-worthy.

Anyone on here got first-hand experience of the Mii?

I wouldn't want to out 2.9k down myself. You'd be better putting like £900 in and paying an extra £50 a month maybe?

They're ace little cars, if you want a cheap runaround look at the Suzuki Alto, they're cheaper!

I haven't driven one, but been in a colleagues. Its never going to excite but it did manage to seat 4 of us for all its size.

I'd love to say I didn't stick a hotpoint badge on the boot to wind him up.

I assume you're mainly interested in answers on Mii experience, rather than "are you mad"...

But anyway... why not take your £3k deposit and:
- Spend £1k on a nice comfortable barge that will be more refined than the Mii
- Spend another £1k on 5000 miles worth of fuel (at a modest 30mpg or so)

Err, save the other £1k towards something fun. And save the £69 per month too. And save the fuel costs on the Mii.

Obviously the £1k car will need maintenance and the Mii would probably cheaper on tax, but if you buy the right sort of thing you should still end up better off and, most importantly, you will get more respect from people you've never met who read an internet forum called Pistonheads...

If sooner spent the £5500 it's going to cost you on a Mondeo or Vectra etc.

Can't think of anything worse than commuting in that crappy under powered bag of spanners.

I know it's the new vs old argument but that's £10k for a basic looking little car. That can buy a significantly better 2 year old car (or even 1 year old car).

How many miles are you planning on doing? Extra mileage might only be 4.4p but if you end up doing 10k a year that's £6500 you're going to have to pay in fees at the end of it.

EDIT: oops, maths fail

I had one for a few days last Summer and thought its a great fun little car! This was the 75PS Sport version. Really good to drive around town and never really felt out of its depth. I've got a Golf GTI at the moment but have to admit if they bring out a turbo version of the Mii/ Up I'll be pretty tempted. Only issue with them is the road and engine noise is a bit loud.

The high deposit would stick in my throat.

Just ordered the wife a Citigo 5dr SE, £300 deposit, £105/mth, also 0% finance.

Ideal for her as trouble-free motoring for when I'm working away smile

You added a zero, it would be £600 in fees, not £6.5K!!

Five and a half grand on new car no-frills motoring? I'd probably go for a Sandero and keep it at the end of the 3 years (or sell it).

This. Even the mid spec TCE model is 7500 quid, its still going to be worth at least 2500 at 3 years old, will be a bigger car and you own it.

I must be missing something, but 5000 miles at 4.4 pence per mile would be £220?

That makes far more sense to me.

Yeah, I didn't add enough decimal points when I converted 4.4p to £ tongue out I'm an idiot

The £660 comes from three years of 5000 miles extra per year i.e. 15k

I just picked one of these up. I have done similar before with both a 107 and C1 but paid cash for them. Total reliability and cost of ownership is what convinced me to go back down to a city car from the previous Fiesta ST. The two bugs cost me £10600 for both!

If the Mii is anywhere near as reliable and cheap to run I'll keep it a few years, though if they do finally bring a turbo version out I'll be straight down to the dealer!

The additional mileage penalties on these agreements tend to get much worse than the headline ppm if you go over x% of the agreed mileage.

I was about 50% over the mileage on the C1 and it was going to come to about £2k in fees (the normal ppm was only 5ppm, but escalated dramatically if you are more than 30% over).

Apparently not. Such a waste of cash. And the guy who spent £10600 driving a C1 and 107 - amazing!
