Searching for the perfect car for my brother...

Hi everyone,

I am new on this forum. My name is Wayne and I live in Manchester.

My brother will soon turn 21 and I would like to give him a very nice car on his birthday.

I am looking for a German or Japanese £6000 max . The car should be powerful, economical, with very good service history,not too many previous owners, long MOT, tax paid.

I've been searching in the sales corner but was confused due to the big variety of cars on sale....

So, I need some help. I would be pleased if anyone could give me some recommendations.

Why? Insurance at 21 should be okay on a 3 litre BMW.

To be honest I never bought a car in my life. Hence, never knew how to insure a car.

How much does it cost to insure a car like a BMW 330i for a 21 years old?

By the way, my brother lives in Japan and he is an international student in Manchester. He has the international 12 month driving license. That's it.

I've been searching for cheap car insurance on the internet but it seems that the insurance is very expensive for my brother who is a 21 years old international student. The lowest I was quoted is £4500 per year for a 1000cc Micra!!!

Can anyone recommend a cheap but good car insurance company for my brother?

Would have thought insurance is around the £2000 mark for fully comprehensive on a 3litre Coupe. Just make sure you name parents and yourself on the car also.

Had a friend who had a 330Ci, £1700 but he lives in a quieter area and paid a lot more excess.
