Swift Sport mk2 vs Fiesta Zetec S 1.0 Ecoboost

Considering trading in my Ibiza FR TDI now I'm not doing big mileage anymore. Anyone experienced BOTH of these cars? Interested in how they drive in terms of handling and engine character which will be hard to get from a test drive.
Hoping I won't miss the torque of the FR too much, but it won't be happy doing these town miles all the time.

I had a Fiesta Ecoboost for quite a while.
Its a 1.0. Its got a "characterful" sound to it, which does get vocal however it does pull when its on boost. Sadly when its not on boost it lags. Economy achieved will be nowhere near what Ford claim it would be. I averaged 39mpg.
If you can put up with the sound it drives like a TDi - just make sure you keep it on boost!

I've test driven both the Fiesta 1.6 n/a (120PS) and 1.0 EcoBoost (125PS) that replaced it. Both cracking engines, but the 1.0 has the edge on bottom end torque, and it has a small but noticeable handling advantage with the smaller engine. It's a very characterful engine that likes to be used hard, but won't grumble at being driven around at 30mph in 5th gear.
I've been on a passenger ride in the Swift, and it was a total blast. More old-school hot hatch than the Ford. You do sit quite high in the Suzuki though, and the interior quality isn't as good as the Ford. It's very well screwed together but some of the plastics are a bit scratchy and cheap feeling compared to the Ford. Also, the stereo isn't as good as the Fiesta (I tested a Titanium spec with the Sony system). The Fiesta was very luxurious, with lots of equipment (climate control, centre arm rest, cruise, auto lights/wipers, capless fuel filler, fancy ambient lighting, Blutooth/USB/Voice control, LED DRLs, elec. folding mirrors and the best thing on a car ever: heated windscreen).
If it was me, I'd go for the Fiesta; if you're used to a VAG TDi, the Fiesta would be a less of a shock with it's turbo engine and higher quality. Also, there are Ford dealers everywhere, and as my dad found out a couple months ago when he was looking for a new Motability car, there aren't too many Suzuki dealers. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, but you never know. Economy on both is good; I've heard that the Swift can realistically match the official figures. But the Suzuki will cost you £140 a year in tax and the Fiesta won't cost you a penny with its 99g/km cO2 rating.

Reckon that could be a winner if it happens, but then hopefully 2nd hand GT86s might be within reach too by then...

I'm in the same situation, considering between these 2 cars! Would be buying new or very nearly new.
On paper similar performance, Swift Sport is cheaper to buy and has a better spec, but this saving is offset by costing more to tax each year and much worse mpg than the Fiesta Zetec S.
Both apparently have good handling and I don't mind the look of either car so pending a couple of test drives it seems as if the question is whether the high revving 1.6 normally aspirated swift is more fun to drive than the torquey 1.0 turbo Fiesta?

Drove one of the Fiesta Zetec S ecoboosts earlier today, engine is good - refined, quiet, responsive. Direct steering, interior good.
Yet despite all this, the car just didn't feel very involving. Competent was a good word to describe it. Unless the Swift Sport is a real let-down there is no way I will be purchasing the Fiesta, despite not really being able to fault it.
