When did you last travel in the back of a car?

I just don't do it. Unless its a London cab. I'm very rarely a passenger and when there's more than one call shotgun. How about others?

Only in cars to the airport - pretending I'm really important as I climb into the back of a 7 series/S class/LS or whatever makes early morning starts a little more bearable. Getting the train to work on other days makes sure that doesn't go to my head!

Quite often. If the OH is driving and we're not going far, I'll often be in the back with our daughter playing games.

I'm too tall to fit in a vast majority of cars. It has been some time since I've been in the back other than in Taxis.

Honestly can't remember, being 6'5 and 17 stone, I can't usually fit comfortably in the back, so ride out front.

Always on a road test of a car I am thinking of purchasing. Sometimes the difference in ride quality between front and rear can be quite alarming - can be worth checking if you regularly have passengers in the back.

That's a very good point if you regularly carry passengers.

Very rarely now, but per a previous poster I used to do so regularly when my daughter was younger so we could play games, watch a video together etc. Hence I had a few Vauxhall Signums - nice individual seat that could be moved back to max out the leg room. If it was my own money (they were employee lease cars) I'd be getting a Skoda Superb now, room in the back for a party!

As infrequently as possible, unless it's a motorway. I get really carsick in the back of a lot of stuff (I'm not brilliant in the passenger seat to be honest) and if it's anything more than a couple of minutes I get out quite unsteady on my feet feeling very queasy. It's very unpleasant

I haven't been in the back of a car since proving I'd fit in the back of a GT86 when they first arrived at dealers. The time before that was a similar thing but with the back of an Evora.

I've also only carried people in the back of my 323 twice since last summer, despite one of the reasons I went for a car with 4 seats was so I could drive something more fun than her Civic when we go places with other people. We've also not had people in the back of her Civic since I bought the 323.

All of my friends have their own cars and none of them live in my village, so sharing a journey happens very rarely.

I managed two years with only one seat in my MX5.

Several years ago I had a mk1 Focus. Reasonably nice car, I thought.

After owning it for the best part of 2 years I rode in the back of it once, while my wife was being the nominated pub taxi driver. I remember being quite shocked at the quality of the plastics and fittings in the rear. For example, the door cards superficially looked the same as those in the front seats, but were a much cheaper grade of plastic - they appeared to be made from melted down dustbins.

Ford must have quite rightly thought that the person who buys the car wouldn't notice.
