Toyota Levin rebuild

Hi,

I was hoping that someone would know does a 1.6 corolla engine and box drop straight into a levin ?

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes from any height it should, though if you drop it from too high you risk smashing the gearbox to bits as well as denting your rocker cover.

You haven't stated what year Levin or model engine, they were made from 1972 to 2000 and changed a lot.

If it's a 4AGE engine of some sort, then the engine mounts match between the AE85/6 (1983) and the AE110/111 (2000) so will drop in. The gearbox I'm not sure about, it won't work if it's a RWD > FWD or vice versa though.

I previously put a 4AGZE from a AE101 into a AE86 but the gearbox would never have worked (I used a gearbox from a Supra instead as the standard AE86 gearbox won't take the torque of the 4AGZE for long).

Its a 00 AE 111 Levin,

I was thinking of putting a standard 1998 to 01 1.6 toyota corolla engine and box into it.

Theyre both front wheel drive.

A Levin is a Corolla, as is a Trueno.

They came from the factory with the 1.6 20v 4AGE or some other 1.6 16v engine (not a 4age). It's probably the same. The chassis and subframes are the same so i'm pretty sure it'll fit. Anything other than the 20v is sacrilege.

5AFE: 1.5l 100PS. Some Truenos were supercharged but theyre very few and far between now.
