Quick'ish 4wd estates

looking at sub £20k cars, the a4 3.0tdi allroad seems to fit my needs best, but before I pull the trigger is there anthing else I should be considering.

Aren't the later Volvo T5's 4WD?

FIL back in 2004 was looking at audi estates,,,2 dogs etc etc,,,and the kit you get for the cash doesn't compair with the subaru's.
he has owned a legacy 2.5 litre petrol, then after 4 years, the car went back and he bought a 3litre legacy...again petrol formt....he was so pleased with the car he bought it off IBM when he retired.

We've got a Subaru Outback 3.0Rn as our family runaround and it's fantastic. Not that fast though in reality. And getting on a bit now. In fact you could pick up a decent one for a quarter of your budget.
