Very tempted as a cheap daily (and it's got 'track car' written all over it) but I'm 6'3"

Will I fit with the roof up? or am I going to be staring straight at the top of the screen frame

I'm 6`4.

I don't fit. Not even nearly. Headroom is fine it's the steering wheel in the knees that's the issue.

Edit: Although if you were to track it, a low mount bucket and smaller wheel would probably make it nearly driveable.

I'm a 5'11 fat chuffer and I almost dont fit. You can foamectomy the seat (google it) which might give you a bit, and definitely go for a different steering wheel - the oem one is like one of saturn's rings.

Well I'm just under 6 foot and fit in my old one fine. I also know of a few 6 foot-plus chaps that drove them.

I'd say worth 5 mins to find out. A good Mk1 MX5 is a very nice thing.

I'm 6ft 3 and I fit in my Mk1 alright. It was odd at first, having been used to cars with giant windscreens, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Have to crouch a tad to see in the wing mirrors....

Im 6ft 4 I fit in mine fine a flat bottom steering wheel helps a lot. But it all depends on where in your body is your height.

In addition to the Foamectomy that was mentioned, fitting Elise seats can give you loads more room. I'm (only) 5'11 but found the original seats to be way too high for my taste. I did the foam mod first and it did improve things a lot.
In the end I bought some Elise seats and made my own adapters to bolt the seat to the original runners. I could have made them to recline the seat even further and that would have definately allowed a taller chap to have fitted with ease.

Like that a lot,perfect smoker mx5 spec for me and even strangely like the colour.

If i wasnt A-skint and B- In lancashire youd have some competition there.

Im 6 ft and fitted in ex er indoors's fine.

6ft4 with 33" inside leg, fit fine, about an inch between head & roof with mk 2.5 seats. Smaller steering wheel is a must, and door cards without the big plastic door pulls makes more room too

Im 6ft3 but as I have quite long legs, it doubt id fit in. Dissapointed as I wanted one to see what the fuss is all about.

Its the same with the orignal Mini. Head rooms fine, but knees around the steering wheels restricting it turning & needing the window open to make my arms fit in dont help.

I'm 6ft and massively fat and I fitted in ours fine. Comfortably did 4 hours each way to the Yorkshire moors a couple of years ago without so much as a twinge.

My mate who is 7ft tall and big build fitted fine in the passenger seat (not that helps much!!)

I'm 6' 3'' and we've had a few MK1 MX5's. There's a knack to getting under the steering wheel, but fit a Sparco quick-release and it's a doddle. If you ditch the OE driver seat and bolt a bucket seat straight to the floor, you can get a little more headroom.

Tried a mates un-modded car and I fit... just (and it's not dignified getting in and out)

Now to go see if they'll negotiate the price.
