Roads now so bad I'm considering changing my car!

The roads in my area (south west) are now so shocking it's starting to get uncomfortable to drive anywhere in a small sporty car. It isn't always possible to drive around them (parked cars to the left, oncoming traffic etc) and sometimes they are simply too big or too plentiful to avoid.

Much as I hate offroad 4x4 things I'm starting to think this might be the only way to stop the constant uncomfortable jarring from the state of the road surfaces.

I dread to think what they'd be like if we'd actually had a proper freezing winter...

Yep, changed car recently because of same (well one of the reasons anyway) but...

Heavier car isn't really any better, should have got light car with soft ride perhaps.

I'm selling the Cooper S for the same reason. The potholes, and badly patched roads are shocking near where I live. Been driving the missus Ford KA and the comfort difference is night and day.

I think the constant water on the roads this winter has caused more damage than freeze/thaw cycles we've had in other recent winters - the roads around me (rural Shropshire) are extremely bad too - even main A roads and on 16" winters it's a game of dodging the crumbling surfaces and craters. It can't be much fun for bikers.

Ari I too live in the south west and would agree,Exeter and surrounding area is shocking. One road with about 50 holes has had one hole repaired and the rest just left madness
