using admirals little box when selling the car

Hi if I was to sell my car do you think it would be good to show the buyer my driving data from the box fitted which monitors speeding, harsh braking etc. I have driven my car well. If I show this info, do you think It would be a good idea and could I ask for more money ?

It does sound like a good idea, although i don't know if anyone would be really interested and i doubt you'll get more for it (most people are miserable with money). It's still kinda new technology though and once it becomes more common this could become a good idea to help boost a cars value and/or lower insurance policies each year. It can't hurt to try i suppose see what kind of response you get.

Better to just demonstrate it and mention it during the test drive I think.

Some people may be put off by a black box in the car. Am I right in thinking the insurer leaves it in situ?

It might stop you getting knocked down, but I doubt it will get you a premium.

By relying on the black box you are also limiting your pool of potential purchasers - ie to those who don't mind the car having one whether working or not.

It would put me off to be honest,
I don't want an insurance black box in my car, and immediate thoughts of I would want to remove that straight away (and take it apart to see how it actually works). Coupled with thoughts of bodged / hacked into wiring looms, untreated rust screw holes etc come to mind. - OK I may be some what clouded by a previous V bad install of a tracker a few years ago. But not for me, as just dont know the ability / knowledge of the person that put said system in.

It would put me off. Who cares how lightly you've applied the brakes. I'd like to think the engine has seen the full range from idle to redlight too.

Is it a new car, or has it had previous owners, where the black box hasn't looked at their driving style??
