C5 warning light

Driving home in my 2 litre C5 auto diesel exclusive the gearbox felt a tad strange. The main warning light..SERVICE...came on and it wouldnt change gear manually and in auto was very clunky changing to park and back to drive.
Also at the same time as I was coming to a stop a small warning light came on above the D.....which is not in the book???
Any ideas?

Try taking a photo of it or at least describing what it looks like. Not everybody is familiar enough with the C5 to know what the lamp above the D is or does.
its now gone off but to a C5 owner they would know what ans where it is mate.Its right above where the large D is on the gear selector.
Probably depends on spec, and my Wife is out in hers so I can't check, but on ours there is a winter setting, which will give you a light, and a sport setting ... Same deal. Are your sure the service light is connected, as this comes on as a general warning for anything, low windscreen washer fluid for example. Have aook at French car forums , google it can't remember the exact address. Loads of C5 owners & info on there. If it is a potential fault, or low ATF etc, get it fixed ! I won't get better. Loads of cheap s/h C5 parts around if you don't want to spend a fortune on it.

Yeah but instantly you're restricting responders to C5 owners who can be arsed to go and look in their cars, pal. If you can't be bothered to ask a question properly you can hardly be surprised if people can't be bothered to answer it for you. Also if you found the answer it's nice to share it just in case somebody else has the same problem; forums like this revolve on sharing knowledge not just taking it. If the 83 in your username is an indication of the year of your birth then you're not even that young so you should know better rather than coming across all grumpy teenager.

It doesn't actually. I checked.t in Mongolian!I do think though that there are about a dozen better places this question could have been asked if a detailed answer was needed so quickly. One thing I've found for sure is that the responses in PH to technical specifics of a motor are about as useful as a Haynes manual (ie. sometimes good but mostly not, and a massive disappointment after high expectations).
