Anyone got any experiences of the V8 Land Cruiser?

I have recently sold our Full Fat RR TDV8 and am looking for a replacement - a like for like replacement with the new car is over £100K so that is out of the window.
I am half tempted by the V8 Land Cruiser - looks like a great spec, and as I am used to driving Bristols I am OK with ugly cars.
Has anyone got any real world experience with them?

The 60th anniversary (2011 car) is a great thing. The silver one for sale on pistonheads is actually mine, it's a great thing - a little on the large side if you have to do a lot of tight town driving, but it's just so effortless. Cornering not exactly a strong point though, but what can you expect.

Thanks - it's really between one of these and a Discovery. they certainly seem to hold their value pretty well.
Land cruiser v8 would be the best choice. I went dune bashing in one and saw plenty of them in the dunes of dubai.
Incredibly tough and they are and very competent.
Both are pretty big but the landcruiser might be a challenge in small villages etc.
Newer one hold value very well too, so you should see some money back...

I know what you mean - I keep looking at the spec and power/torque and can't move on from it.
I owned a discovery at the same time as my land cruiser and what pissed me off the most with the discovery, was the terrible ergonomics in the cab and poor build quality, which seemed more apparent the longer I owned it...I sold my disco and kept my land cruiser, the only thing that will replace my land cruiser will be a younger one...at some point 
To wrap this up. I picked up a new one yesterday.
Had a long drive back and generally impressed.
it's very comfortable, quiet (definitely quieter than a last generation TDV8 RR), very smooth to drive. The tyres are a lot higher profile than I had on the RR and I think it's better for it. I always regretted getting the bigger wheels on mine.
Plenty of kit - the minor controls are dotted all over the place and very fiddly. Major controls, sat nav etc excellent.
Overall - I'm pleased, but there's no denying a FFRR is a nicer place to be - but it's about 40K more on a like for like basis.

It's because something that is good at what it's for is wonderful.
Early days yet but it certainly feels very well put together. Excellent visibility It's because something that is good at what it's for is wonderful.
It's a big unit, but the 3rd row of seats would be usable for my teenage sun for long distance, although access if for the supple only.
I should have checked before I bought but will be interested to see what the servicing and such costs are like compared to Land Rover.
