Nice going by the SEAT Cupra, 7m58.4s, beats the Renault RS time by 10 sec or so. SEAT touring car champ Jordi Gene in the driver seat.

This Mk 3 Leon seems to have overcome the disappointing Mk 2, looks good and clearly goes well.

Porsche reckoned that tyres were about 15-20 seconds of the difference in laptime between the Carerra GT and the 918.

The tyres on the Leon are probably pretty special in fact I wouldn't rule out the tyres being a little more special than those on a customer car.

The article below the video actually says what tyres it was running on. "Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2"

Megane RS 265 Trophy was 8m.08 on std tyres, I reckon it would get close to this new record on 'Cup' tyres...

No. Fast 'ring time almost always means none-existent suspension, especially when its just a £20k hatchback.
