my first post so here goes i ave just brought a 2005 roadster brabus with 17"monblock wheel and i noticed the rear tyres are 225/35.17 and the fronts are 205/40.17 why would you have larger sidewalls on the front, most of the noise and hard ride seems to come from the rear so seems an odd choice to me, would it not make sense to have say 40's all round?
really looking forward to hearing why this is.

Just done a quick google search and it seems that your wheels are on the wrong axles. They should be the other way around as you suspected.
Obviously some dick has swapped them over at some point, probably to even out the wear and wasn't even aware they were different sizes.
My advice would be to swap them back ASAP as i'm not sure the current setup would help with handling at all.

As the second reply said, the sidewalls will be simular heights.

The sidewall height it measured as a percentage of the width, therefore the sidewalls are the same height (give or take 3mm) all round.
^^^ This. The wider the tyre the profile is reduced to ensure the same rolling radius. The post where front to back has been swapped - Sorry no!
Cheers for the replies guys so it would be ok then to have the backs 225/40 and 205/40 front.
Did brabus mix the tyres this way or just a pervious owner like someone said (sorry forgot you name and I cant see the post as im on my phone)

On another note I just found out I can open the roof from the key which is handy but sadly I cannot close it again from the key is this normal?
mine one did neither - i believe this can be programmed into the ECU if you have a certain aged car - they added the functionality then took it away??? i dont think it ever put the roof back up. Cheeky shot of mine when i had it
