Valuation for Subaru Legacy

I went to view another car this weekend and was disappointed to hear the trade in price for my Subaru would be £300, I was expecting more than this.

Can anyone suggest a value for trade in and private sale please?

Car is a Subaru Legacy 2.5 Auto '99 year on a private plate (was told this would be worth around £400). It has fully stamped up service book with some bills from myself and the previous owner. Milage is around 86K.

Has virually unmarked silver paintwork, 12 months MOT and several months VED. Spec includes full leather (unmarked), heated front seats, cruise control and DVD SAT nav MP3 stereo.

Do condition and spec not count when the trade values cars?

The car I was viewing was slightly higher mileage '05 without full history and they wanted £3400 ish for it. I had rather thought my car would be worth more than they quoted with this in mind.

Can anyone please help with a more accurate estimate of its worth please?

Please note this is not an advert to sell the vehicle. I want to be able to advertise it for a realistic price is all. If anyone has any ideas as to the best place to advertise it please feel free to suggest.

Not when you are talking about a car that's going straight to auction, simply to get it out their hair. If its in truly great order then you should be able to shift it privately. Expect it to take a while though as I know older Legacies take a long time to shift.

Thanks folks, was thinking around £1500.

Too good a car to let go for less than a grand in my opinion, so wont.

Was thinking a ragtop might be nice for the Summer. but not essential.
