I know people who drive along brake for no reason then accelerate to make up for slowing down, this repeats over and over

Happens all the time. Notice it a lot when I use cruise control on the motorway, you gain on people and then pull out to overtake, get alongside and then the find the accelerator. I pull in behind them and 2 minutes later I'm back out overtaking again.

I think these people become fixated with getting past the car in front and then only notice the speed they are doing once they have passed it.

Yes it's so annoying when out in my recovery truck, basically I don't have the power to have a race when trying to overtake. Have to pull behind and then deal with the idiot a couple of feet ahead.

Happens a fair amount when I'm using cruise control at reasonable speeds - 70 through to about 80 or so. I think it's because people driving on the throttle as opposed to cruise control 'latch on' to a car subconsciously and follow it, unless you've got enough of a speed differential to not matter.

Really annoying!

Every fking day this happens to me, I normally get pissed off and end up booting until I'm a few hundreds yards ahead and then put the cruise control on again.

I had a guy in a BMW 5 Series go all out to catch me up and pass me towards the end of a straight only to slam his brakes on and dither round the next series of gentle bends at about 35mph under my feet. He wanted to past to boost his ego but couldn't handle a few bends at a reasonable pace.

or the morons who do 40 in a 60 for miles then when you finally can overtake them they sit up your arse..
