Well, one like it, just idly looking, I value mine around 8 grand, 2007 350Z Convertible with 34,000,

In Australia, same model starting bid of $25,500 required, thats thirteen and a half pounds.

Have a look at Singapore.
Tax is crippling. And the licences required are also hefty. As an exampl 2007 Volvo XC90 around 6-7k in the UK. Similar car is around 52k in Singapore.

My old BMW is worth F.A. in this country, a grand on a very good day, but would be worth more in most countries. Cars over here, even perfectly functioning ones, become cheap to the point of near worthlessness when they get old, other countries aren't so wasteful.

But saying that, if you can manage to buy new the depreciation is very low.

In comparison for tax uplift a brand new Fiesta is from 9500 for a 1.4 style to 12500 for a 1.6 sport compared to 10-18K in the UK, i.e no extra tax on regular cars. But there is for luxury or useless cars. A friends RR Autobiography Ultimate Edition was 335k for example.
