How much was this stripped RS5 worth?
Discussion
Guys could someone give me an accurate figure on what the sum total of stripping the parts of this RS5 would have been?

Obviously I don't need a precise breakdown but I'd be interested to know if it was worth the hassle (and the risk of arrest) to strip it down and try to sell on. And I thought things like the engine would have been difficult to dispose of as they are stamped with partial VIN numbers?
And finally where would you go to get rid of all the nicked gear, especially with the risk that if the police found any vendors with any of the stolen parts, they'd have to return it to the rightful owner and be out of pocket (with a possibility of a criminal caution or worse)?
I'm not planning on nicking anyone's car, just genuinely curious, when I read this story it seemed an awful lot of hassle for anyone to risk when a police or other rescue vehicles were obviously swarming around helping local people out.

Logic says that desirable - not track-able bits would be the easiest to dispose of:
Alloys, pannels, trim, wing mirrors etc.
Then its the electrical bits (as its a newer car people are unlikely to need second hand spares for a while)
Then larger mechanical bits (gearboxes, steering rack) and consumables - why buy second hand when you can buy new? - again most are still under warranty so will be a while
Then the traceable bits e.g. engine, these will either be broken down into components or sent out of the country.
NB - I am neither a dismantler or tea leaf - just tried to apply some common sense

even if you only got 10k for the bits its pretty much pure profit
and some parts will sell for big money fast like the wheels, brakes and seats (especially if they where bucket seats), you can also sell an RS5 kit to turn your boggo 2.0 oil burner into a looky like
engine and box are perfect for a kit car or someone building a Q car but could be traceable
there is a thread on this car and the owners son has commented on what happened
