Which used 4x4 would you choose and why?

I need 7 seats, split tailgate and the ability to tow two tons ish.
Short list is X5, Disco and XC90. I've seen several cars over the last week and not one was as described - very frustrating! Budget £15k so the cars are around the 2007 vintage.
Thoughts...?

Air suspension is misunderstood. Resale values seem good and the higher spec ones come with loads of kit.

Of the three, the Disco 3 every time. But look at the Mercedes GL-class as we'll; I've had an XC90, two Disco 3s, and now a GL420 - the Mercedes is by far the best at everything I've thrown at it.

Mmmmm - but I go to a lot of outdoor events and need to take notes at them. Tailgates make brilliant benches whilst watching/taking notes of said event.

Plus Q7s are just a bit rude.

If you're worried about image, it has to be a Land Rover product.

Just keep your AA membership up to date.

I have a bit of a passion for Land Rovers so I could live with any problems, as a mechanic I dont have to pay someone else to repair it. For absolute confidence Land Cruiser every time. Jeremy Clarkson who doesnt have much good to say about anything that isnt high performance exotica praises the XC90 as the only vehicle a family should ever consider, hes on his 3rd or 4th.

I wouldn't pay much attention to Clarkson: when he tested the Disco he couldn't figure out how to fold the rear sets so he could put a child in the back.
