Do dumb ass dealers take a whole host of pictures of a car and then to cover up wear place the seat belt over a drivers bolster!!!

I am in the market for a circa £10k-£12k something so looking at all sorts at the minute, this S6 is the latest one that has cropped up... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2013...

I have to say I have almost got to the point where I simply dismiss out of hand any advert that has that done. Which is perhaps nose off to spite face in many ways as I may be missing out on a peach that just needs £200's worth of sorting out in one place. It just says to me if you are willing to cover up something so simple what else are you willing to cover up!!?

I prefer the "list every fault" approach. I find that people who then come to view don't find the car as bad as they were expecting.

It's very easy to catch the side bolster with sports seats getting in and out, 7-8 years of that over 74k.

It's a way of getting more people to look at it, a bit like covering up the worn bolster gets more people to go and look at the car!
