OK, so lets's pretend we are (powerfully built) directors of the design dept at the newly incorporated Pistonheads Motor Co. We have several models to design including a...

- city car (EV? Hybrid?)
- hot hatch
- fun roadster
- supercar/GT
- barge

So to start off, here is my initial concept for the roadster:

- An MX-5 MkI sized 2-seater convertible built on TVR/Lotus concepts ( i.e. chassis & fibreglass body) but with Mazda quality
- front engine & RWD
- 1.6 turbo with 200bhp
- Adjustable suspension modes
- PAS, AC, ABS, TC & VBRJ
- less than £20K
- less than 140g/CO2
- accompanying race series

Not sure you could make such a thing at less than £20k but give it 250HP and £25k and I still think it would sell.

Could a Homologation special be available without the PAS, AC etc?

Anyone else like the idea?

I would have thought that with a bonded hydroformed chassis they are quite difficult to build, certainly more than say a Lotus 7/ Caterham chassis.
