If they are what Google Images thinks they are, they look somewhat old-fashioned.

Never heard of them, had a google but not seen many of them, seems to be popular with Japanese modified cars.

Surely if looked at from a sensible angle, they would just look like normal twin-tailpipes?

I suppose this is just an twin exhaust with no silencer - people have been running these on E36 3 series cars for years.

Not sure about "shotgun"; a better description would be "badly fitted".

That MX5 is a bosozoku style. Google it... it's interesting to say the least.

Surely that MX5 has got to illegal? The exhaust tips are half obscuring the lights.

There was a massive discusion on a facebook group regarding these. It seems that according to a lot of younger people that its perfectly ok to have a ridiculous thing protruding from your car. A lot of the more sensible people were shot down in flames when trying to state the 'pitfalls' of such a mod.

TVR have been doing that for ages - I remember our NDN had an S3 which had two pipes at the back (made a lovely noise too, except at 3 in the morning).

I seen a car sticker that was 'JDM as f**k' on the back of a UK spec Honda civic.

Japanese domestic market as fk? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

I can only assume the driver went full retard.

Indeed. Add "racey" tow hooks and the Shoshinsha logo (Japan's equivalent of R plates) to that list.

Sort of dumb, but not nearly as dumb as the fools who insist on referring to USDM and UKDM and who plainly have no idea what JDM and more particularly domestic actually means.

Japanese car manufacturers can only have one home market, you fools!

I don't understand your point? Some cars are different specifications for different markets, it's a perfectly sensible way to differentiate.
