Help me shop £18-£22k hot hatch, fast saloon/estate

Right I need some real life classifieds... cash burning a hole and have a man maths calculator at hand!

Currently have a Megane Sport 06 plate and it's time to change it, especially as I now have a baby so need the extra doors! The Megane is fully loaded with options so would like the next one to retain some of these if possible (in order of importance) .. leather, heated seats, auto lights, folding mirrors (have a narrow drive), auto dimming mirrors, auto wipers. These are not essential

Ideally would like something like a M3, A45, CLA45, C63 BUT I realise I haven't got the money so need alternative suggestions... must be faster than the Megane (sub 6 seconds 0-60).

Focus ST?

• Mk2 Focus + Mountune MP260/MR290 kit (or aftermarket tuning options)
• Mk3 (new shape) in hatch or Estate, with Mountune MP275 kit.

ST-3 guise satisfies the wish list.

If you relax your criteria on age a mileage just a little bit then more options open up (Audi B8 S4, just for one example).

I'd say a new focus ST2 or 3. Should easily be able to get one. I doubt you'd need the estate if you only have 1 child unless you're planning another quite soon

I had a RX8 before the Megane Sport loved the car but hated that I flooded it which ended in lost compression. never never again :-)

I'm not sure of the the shape of the new ST, it's no way as nice of the older model, plus My brother-in-law got one when he had a kid..., but that's a cracker of suggestion to cover the tick boxes.

Audi B8 S4 are 60k plus mileage. I plan on keeping it for a while and soon would have clocked up too many I think.

My B6 S4 has just passed 150k miles and remarkably, it hasn't exploded in a cloud of smoke yet

Mk3 Focus St has isofix as standard. My St-2 has all the toys you mentioned.

If you went down to 08/58 you could easily get an E9X for your money. Some C63s are down to 23k at that vintage though one listed on AT at 22995 is advertised as having a recent cambelt service....

Epic cars IMHO - a remap takes them to (and above) B7 RS4 performance. The S4 has often been the best marriage of performance and affordability in Audi's range.

Intercooler before you even think about mapping one ,when you see the stock size you will know what im onabout .
