Nearly run over this morning... What is wrong with people?

Walking down my lane this morning (to get Lemsip; Man flu!), and a lady in a new FF Ranger Rover literally drove at me in a narrow part of the lane as another car was coming the other way. She was so close when I put my hand up it hit her mirror. She just looked blankly at me and drove off. Unbelievable.
Yes, Cool story bro and all that, but pretty pathetically poor driving.

Thank goodness she didn't hit you and hurt you, she sounds like the type to drive off leaving you potentially dying in the road without giving it a second thought.

You read about youngsters sat still in carparks getting section 59s handed to them by the Police for causing "alarm or Distress".

OP, if you had got the reg number you may have had some fun reporting her for "alarm and distress" and see if she got a S59.

Had a simlar event yesterday when i was out running down a narrow-ish country road (no pavements, but wide enough for two cars to pass each other). Car coming from behind me slowed down directly opposite me and exactly matched my pace, meaning that the oncoming car had to drive past me while squeezing past the other car. Very tight, and I had to dive into the hedge.

Real lack of insight/forward planning by the driver.

Sadly no, reg although for a change it was a private plate. Will no doubt see her again.

Typical Chelsea tractor driving (there are a few OK drivers but for this rant I shall make sweeping generalisations), bully their way round the roads. That said if I drove like a complete tt, then I suppose I would buy a 2.5 ton offroader as eventually they are going to have an accident, in a Range Rover it will hurt their victim, but they will walk away absolutely fine.

I think the point is there are more than a few people in the UK that genuinely don't care if other people live or die, just what happens to their own little world.

I take it you commute via bicycle. If that's the case and this is your typical daily experience, I'm surprised you still cycle to work. Screw the environment and all that!

Sadly that's also true of the country lanes as well. The worst is some stupid wag in a Nissan X trail who just drives at you and gets all aggressive if you hold her up even slightly

Late Summer there are usually a few of these running around the local lanes in my area.



People in Range Rovers don't feel quite so superior when confronted with one around a blind bend.

I admit though it doesn't help if you are on foot.

Maybe a shotgun over the shoulder

I used to spend a fair bit of the summer driving around with one of these on the front.



I always fancied meeting a obstructive/argumentative driver so I could see what happened when I flexed the claws at them. Sadly I only ever met them when I was in my Fiesta though
